Theresa comes to Passages with over 20 years of clinical experience working with adolescents, adults and families working in a variety of mental health settings. Her primary focus in working with clients is to increase their overall well-being, including their emotional health and life satisfaction by strengthening coping skills, positive self-image, mood and daily functioning.
Theresa’s clinical areas of expertise include depression and anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorders and phobias, improving self-esteem, stress management, improving relationships and bereavement. She helps her clients learn how to regulate their emotions, articulate their feelings and know their own value. Theresa helps clients break out of negative patterns and develop tools they need for successful relationships, school achievement and careers.
Theresa has both a Master’s Degree in Social Work from New York University and a Master’s Degree in Psychology from Long Island University. She also attended University of Geneva Switzerland, School of Child Development, and completed a certificate in Development Psychology and Child Development. Theresa is trained in a wide variety of best practice and evidenced based treatment modalities including Strengths Based Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Trauma Informed Therapy and Motivational Interviewing.
