Lauren earned her Master’s Degree in Advanced Clinical Practice Social Work from Columbia University. She is passionate about working with women, teens and families experiencing various challenges and life transitions.
Lauren has a diverse clinical background, working in various settings including hospitals and schools. She worked as a transplant social worker at Columbia University Medical Center, and the New York school system. Lauren received advanced clinical training at Columbia University School of Social Work’s Center for Complicated Grief, where she studied Complicated Grief Therapy for individuals experiencing grief and loss. Lauren brings this framework to sensitively and compassionately treat: bereavement, divorce, sexual assault, domestic violence, and post-traumatic stress. She also has completed advanced training from The Seleni Institute in the treatment of Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders.
Lauren’s approach to therapy is goal-oriented, client-centered and strengths-based. She utilizes the most current evidence based modalities to treat anxiety and mood disorders such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Restructuring, and Behavior Activation. Lauren continues to be inspired by the resilience of her clients, and the hope and strength she witnesses with them, in even the most challenging of circumstances.
Outside of work, Lauren enjoys group fitness classes, and spending time at the ocean with her friends and family!
