Ellen is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) with over 25 years experience working in the mental health field. She brings both her rich clinical background and passion for working with women and families to Passages! Ellen helps women to recognize their full potential and find fulfillment in their everyday lives. With sensitivity and support, she helps women navigate through their own challenges and roadblocks to help reach their goals.
With a degree in Counseling Psychology from Teachers College-Columbia University, Ellen has worked with a diverse range of settings, including career counseling, substance abuse, working with seniors and preschool age children. Her clinical expertise includes working with mood and anxiety disorders, parenting, life transitions, relationship issues, addiction and recovery and self-empowerment.
After becoming a mother to her two daughters, as well as her own struggles, she discovered her love for working with women, particularly struggling with perinatal mood and anxiety disorders. Ellen has volunteered at the Postpartum Resource Center of New York and has completed their Moms on Call training. She also has advanced training from the Seleni Institute in Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders. With understanding and compassion, Ellen appreciates the challenges of motherhood as she supports women through this often overwhelming period and helps them to thrive and find fulfillment in their new role.
Outside of her practice, Ellen enjoys doing anything with her husband and spending time with her daughters. You can find her on the weekends watching one daughter play softball or spending time in NYC and watching the Yankees with her other daughter! Ellen finds her balance by reading and spending time at the beach year round.
